"Arati Speaks." Arati Thinks. | "Taryn Speaks." Taryn Thinks.
"Quit your complaining, we would have never gotten here if it were not for me." Taryn growled softly under her breath. It had been only a matter of days since they had pulled themselves up onto the shores of this continent and Arati had done nothing but complain. Or at least that was what it seemed like to the female as she forced the other personality down further within herself. Now, truly it was Arati that owned the body they shared, but in an unknown place with unknown creatures looming around any corner, Taryn was determined to maintain control. She was the tougher of the two, the more confident, and the more skilled. She had taken Arati as far from her family as possible, knowing that if she risked remaining close by the weaker female might attempt to bring them back to the crushing existence that was living there. So she swam all day and all night, anything to keep her from making the horrible mistake of returning to them.
Now they traveled through the mountains to the west of the territory that they had dragged themselves up into. It seemed as if it was unclaimed, which had been a relief to the tan females. Eventually Arati's voice grew softer, twisting slowly through Taryn's consciousness and dancing lightly through her mind. Perhaps we will find a place here. The sound of her voice was much more feminine than Taryn's, much softer, and much more gentle. A scoff was the only sound that Taryn offered her in return, before pulling herself up a steep incline of precarious rocks. She could feel the tension in her body as she pushed with her hind legs, fighting back the feminine personality at the same time. Arati was not built for physical labor, and it was not uncommon for Taryn to take control when they traveled far or long. Therefore, the further she climbed, the less she felt Arati fighting for a foothold in her mind.
Soon the fainter personality was quiet altogether, and Taryn found her mind clear as her pink eyes scanned out along the rocky terrain before them. They were almost at a ridge, a place where she was certain she would finally be able to see what was on the other side of the mountains. After a few more minutes of climbing and only a couple close calls, she managed to drag herself up onto a large boulder that flattened nicely at the top. Thankfully it was solid, and once she lifted her nose from the ground she was able to see the green lands below. There was white here and there, what she could only assume was melting snow spotting along the plains that stretched out as far as she could see. Spring was coming to this land, and though she had not experienced winter yet herself, she was certain that she would prefer the green to the white any day.
A faint squeal of glee echoed within her as she allowed Arati to enjoy the view as well, and for a brief few moments she allowed herself to sit and simply look out at the world below. It truly was beautiful, but it was not in her to see all the beauty before her. That was likely coming from her other half, and at least for the time being she allowed it. There were times when she did not feel Arati at all, and typically when she allowed the more shy female to control their body she would remove herself completely. But this was a rare moment, something that she was glad that they could manage to experience together.
